Osmanthus Concert / Mother's Day Recognition

To carry on the tradition of last year's Osmanthus Concert and to show our gratitude to the 500 Osmanthus VIPs who helped the Rare Disease Welfare Center (RDWC) at its inception, TFRD hosted the "2nd Annual Osmanthus Concert & Mother's Day Appreciation Event" on May 4, the eve of Mother's Day.

RDWC began operations in October 2022 to provide localized services in the Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli area. During this period, our social workers encountered many touching stories about the dedication of caregivers, either during their home visits or at various activities organized by RDWC. As a result, TFRD invited 12 mothers of rare disease patients from Hsinchu, Taoyuan, and Miaoli to the event to honor them and offer them substantial support. Among these exceptional mothers, four are grandmothers who, despite their frail health, have taken on the role of mothers to care for their ill grandchildren.

On that day, introduction by Tseng Min-chieh, co-founder of TFRD, the "Taipei University Wind Ensemble" and the "Nanmen Junior High School Wind Ensemble," led by Mr. Chia-hung Tsou, were invited to perform. In addition, over 100 participants from the "Northern District Rare Mind Painting Class," "TFRD Music Talent Class," and "RDWC Talent Class" also joined the activities. They engaged in outdoor drawing activities, creating their visions of ideal homes, while simultaneously enjoying high-quality wind ensemble performances, fostering a rich musical exchange.
