Heartwarming Trip for Volunteers (Taichung Branch)
On a December weekend, TFRD Taichung Branch organized an excursion to the Guanshan Pastoral Area of Qingjing Farm, leading a group of dedicated volunteers through winding mountain roads to enjoy an amazing horse riding show. As familiar faces reunited, warm greetings of "Long time no see" echoed among the group. Though time had subtly altered appearances, the deep camaraderie among the volunteers remained as strong as ever. What began as a gathering marked by initial shyness years ago has since blossomed into a cherished friendship. This weekend's afternoon tea felt more like a heartfelt reunion of old friends—an afternoon filled with shared memories, laughter, and renewed connection.
We spent the afternoon feeding sheep under wide blue skies. The white fluffy sheep looked beautiful against the green-gray grasslands. At the farm's sheep show, we saw two amazing things: clever sheepdogs rounding up sheep, and farmers skillfully shearing wool. The host explained why shearing is important - both for the sheep's health and as valuable material for making things. As evening came, the mountain air turned chilly fast. We made our way down before it got dark. Coming back to the city felt like returning to daily life. But after this peaceful day in nature, everyone feels energized, filled with renewed hope and determination to keep supporting families facing rare diseases.
