Commission Academic Studies and Sponsorship to Master and PhD Thesis

To enhance the standard of academic studies on rare diseases in Taiwan, the foundation in 1999 established the Management Regulation for Commissioning Studies on Rare Diseases and the Regulations for Sponsorships to Master and PhD Thesis on Rare Diseases. Under the Management Regulation for Commissioning Studies on Rare Diseases, the foundation is able to commission research projects carried out by Taiwanese experts, scholars and medical professionals as the reference by the foundation or the government for establishing rare disease policies. The Regulations for Sponsorships to Master and PhD Thesis onRare Diseases aim to encourage more graduate students in Taiwan to work onthesis studies on rare diseases. By the end of 2019, the foundation has commissioned 42 research projects at the cost of NT$18.14 million and has sponsored the master and PhD thesis of 122 graduate students at the cost of NT$4.85 million. The foundation welcomes the proposals from those who are interested in the study of rare diseases.
