Kaohsiung Volunteers Explore Leather Crafting
On March 22nd, volunteers from TFRD Kaohsiung Branch gathered at the simple and modest Dreamkaban Workshop on Yancheng Old Street to try their hand at leather crafting for the first time.
These volunteers set to work designing patterns and hammering away to create unique leather key rings and coasters. Immersed in the peaceful, relaxing sound of hammering, everyone helped each other, demonstrating the warm camaraderie of the Kaohsiung Branch Volunteer Team.
Moreover, the instructor further explained key aspects of leather craftsmanship. For instance, vegetable-tanned leather absorbs moisture and pigments, and with repeated use, it develops a unique patina and texture that reflects one’s personal style. During the activity, participants also chatted about their daily lives, enjoying a delightful afternoon together.
TFRD extends its heartfelt gratitude to all volunteers for their compassion and unwavering commitment to supporting patients, even amid their demanding personal schedules. We hope that this event has provided an opportunity for everyone to relax and enjoy some time with themselves, and we look forward to continuing to support patients in the future.
