Online Classroom for Low Protein Nutrition

Due to the impact of the pandemic, the annual low-protein nutrition class has been switched to an online class this year. This time, we invited Ms. Du Li-chuan to show us how to make low-protein food. Ms. Du elaborated on the preparation process of each dish in front of the camera, and RD parents cooked it step by step with her at their homes.

Though this is an online class, it has the advantage of allowing more patients with abnormal amino acid metabolism in central and southern Taiwan to participate. The parents also hope that the teachers can teach more low-protein staple dishes and snacks in the future to enrich the daily diet of the patients.

The nutrition class is a brainchild created by the cooking teachers and the TFRD nutritionist. With the limited ingredients available, it took a lot of communication and trials to confirm the teaching content. TFRD will hold special diet-related activities every year, and we encourage more families of patients with metabolic diseases to participate.
