A Mindful Journey with Yoga and Singing Bowls
To help patients and their families ease the burdens of illness and stress, the Taiwan Foundation for Rare Disorders (TFRD) partnered with ASify Yoga Apparel to host “Summer Slow Breath: A Mindful Yoga and Singing Bowl Journey.” The program took place every Sunday morning from June 29 to August 1 at the Taipei Bio-Medicine Park, drawing nearly 30 enthusiastic participants from patient and family groups.
Building on last year’s well-received sessions led by instructor Tseng, the founder of Yoga Slowly, this year’s classes provided personalized guidance based on each participant’s physical condition and health needs. Through gentle movement and mindful breathing, attendees learned to restore balance between body and mind. The program included chest and shoulder opening, back and waist stretching, hip and leg extension, core strengthening, and full-body twists, allowing each participant to choose exercises suited to their own capabilities.
This year also introduced two special singing bowl sessions led by instructors Noemie and Hana. The resonant tones of the bowls helped harmonize participants’ bodies and energy fields, guiding many into an unusually deep state of relaxation. TFRD encourages participants to continue their practice at home, bringing mindfulness, joy, and well-being into everyday life.
