UMC Volunteer Day at the TFRD Welfare Center

UMC (United Microelectronics Corporation) is a loyal partner of the TFRD Welfare Center. Not only do they regularly invite our Rare Crafts artisans to set up booths at their sites, but many UMC employees actively volunteer at the Center. From greenhouse work to tidying the farmland and classroom cleaning, they take on every task with enthusiasm.

This year, UMC organized its Employee Day events in both June and September. In June, the company set aside part of its staff outing for employees to volunteer at the TFRD Welfare Center. Over two days, more than 80 employees took part, showing great enthusiasm and commitment. Following their volunteer service, participants joined a guided tour of the Center, where they gained a deeper appreciation of its thoughtful design and support systems, enriching their overall experience.

On September 17 (Wednesday), a group of 15 UMC volunteers returned to the Center. Even in the heat, they worked side by side to refresh the flowerpots along the driveway and plant new flowers. Chatting as they worked, they fully enjoyed the Center’s calm and relaxing atmosphere. Later, the volunteers put on bamboo hats and rain boots and headed to the fields to pick freshly ripened roselle.

The Welfare Center sincerely thanks to the UMC team for their generosity and support. Caring for such a large space takes many helping hands, and we warmly invite more companies and organizations to reach out; whether for Employee Family Days or volunteer programs, so that more people can experience meaningful service and discover a different perspective on life.
