Painting Class Online Teaching
TFRD Kaohsiung branch office resumed its long-awaited painting class this summer. In response to the pandemic, Kaohsiung branch office switched the class to online teaching. Zhang Yu-Qi, a teacher with experience in teaching persons with disabilities and dedicated to promoting special art, was invited to lead the children into the world of art creation.
Our course included four themes: Cute Caterpillars, Rainy Days with Umbrellas, My Breakfast, Doughnuts and Pearl Milk Tea. The course adopted common things in life, such as insects, situations, objects, and food, as the subject matter for creation. The teacher demonstrated how to use crayons and watercolors to impart techniques such as vignetting, gradation, 3D effects, and collage, as well as to guide them to show the value of life by turning life experiences into delicate patterns and colors in a fun way.
The participants drew along with the teacher one stroke after another via the screen at home. In each class, they shared their own creations and insights. Their families also said that the online teaching brought a different learning experience, allowing participants with limited mobility far away from each other to paint together.
