4th Scholarship Award Ceremony

Rare Disease Scholarship Award Ceremony Full of Laughter and Warmth

TFRD co-held a scholarship award ceremony with Kuan-Shu Educational Foundation at the auditorium at Taipei County Government Building on November 18 in order to honor rare disease patients who did their best to achieve good academic performance. The ceremony gave out scholarship awards to 222 rare disease students of 47 diseases. This special day must stand as one of the proudest day for the students and parents. 

Mr. Hsi-Wei Chou, Taipei County Governor, popular singer Kong-Leung Wang, actor Zheng-Long Lan and Christopher Downs, and famous TV show hostess Mei-Ren Yu all attended the ceremony. What a start! Besides the presentation of awards, scholarship winners and volunteers’ excellent talent show also won great applause. 

This is TFRD’s forth scholarship award ceremony and different from previous ceremonies, a new scholarship award was offered to students whose parents are rare disease patients. Those students have to take care of their sick parents and at the same time work hard on their studies. Also, several guests were awarded the title friendship ambassadors for their warm support for rare disease patients. 

The ceremony climaxed in the closing singing performed by the Heavenly Melody Chorus and Kong-Leung. The chorus members were all excited to sing with their idol. The ceremony had a wonderful ending and we hope next year, you can all come and join us!
