There are over 300 million people worldwide living with a rare disease. "Rare Disease Day" work towards the 6000+ rare diseases more equitable access to diagnosis, treatment, care and social opportunity.

The Rare Disease Day was first launched by EURORDIS and Council of National Alliances on February29, 2008, a purposeful choice of the date that occurs only once every four years. The main objective of Rare Disease Day is to raise awareness amongst the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients' lives.
