Could rare disease patients possess beautiful love? TFRD image representative, Yu-Xing, tells us the answer: yes! 

The onset of Yu-Xing's disease, Miyoshi Myopathy, occurred when she was 19. Instead of becoming pessimistic, as she realized that her disease deteriorates slowly, she decided to seize every moment she has to realize her dream and to service and encourage more people who need help. She dedicated herself into striving for rare disease patients’ right but left scarce time for love. “Love and marriage seem far away from my life since it is bound with disease”, Yu-Xing said. However, her intelligence and tender mind attract her soul mate who loves her in sickness and in health, respect her as an equal, sharing joy as well as sorrow. Encouraged by love, Yu-Xing involves into public service with beloved mate. 

True love never comes too late 

Before 33 years old, Yuan-Chen Tsai had an ordinary life as others, except for his  extraordinary height. He had a steady occupation and a two-year relationship  until he was diagnosed with Acromegaly, a hormonal disorder that results from too much growth hormone in the body. Acromegaly is most often diagnosed in middle-aged adults, reflecting one of its most common symptoms—the abnormal growth of hands and feet. Yuan-Chen Tsai had more serious symptoms, pituitary tumors. After tumor-excided operations, his girl friend decided to separate from him. Although girl friend’s leaving broke his heart, he doesn’t give up pursuing true love and addresses himself to protecting rare disease patients’ benefit. After 17 year’s loneliness, good news comes unexpectedly. He meets her, a clever and beautiful girl who doesn’t see his defects but appreciate his goodness.
