Wen-Han You's Trip Around Japan by A Basket Bike
A new book launch for A Week in Japan, written by Wen-Han You, a patient with VHL (Von Hippel-Lindau), was held on October 14 at Kinokuniya Bookstore of Breeze Center Taipei. You’s friends and family went to the launch, and the event also attracted many readers and tourists in the store. At the beginning of this launch, the executive director of Taiwan Foundation for Rare Disorder (TFRD), Kuan-Ju Chen, gave an opening remark and appreciated that NU Skin had shown strong supports through buying 400 copies of the book. All the books would be gifts to scholarship winners of at TFRD this year, in order to encourage other patients to achieve their dreams bravely.
You believes the only way to realize his existence is by traveling. He rode 30,000 kilometers around China with 2 17-inch wheels in 100 days in 2016. Afterwards, he published a book named Dreams, on the Way to Go. In 2017, he traveled 7,000 kilometers around Japan in 106 days by a basket bike. Then he published this new book, A Week in Japan. He loves literature and philosophy so much that he could only find the meaning of life by traveling and writing, and then present philosophy by words.
During the launch, You shared his story during the days in Japan. We enjoyed the story as if we had traveled around with him. This book not only brings us around Japan, but also introduces to us the history and philosophy of life. You is now preparing for his next trip to Mongolia. He has been learning Mongolia’s Huumii, Morin khuur, Dombra, and horse riding. He is determined to cross Mongolia by riding a horse. We are looking forward to his trip to Mongolia and sharing about nomadic culture.
