TSMC x TFRD for Inclusive Workplace
As the world's leading and largest integrated circuit foundry manufacturer, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has long been committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace that ensures equal opportunities for employment and career development.
On Friday, July 25, the Taiwan Foundation for Rare Disorders (TFRD) was honored to partner with TSMC to launch the opening event of the "Respecting Differences, Creating an Inclusive Workplace—Barrier-Free Series." The program aimed to help employees better understand the daily challenges faced by people living with various disabilities.
Recognizing that there are more than 240 types of rare diseases, TFRD designed five interactive activities—Memory Challenge, Dietary Differences, Weight Challenge, Perception Challenge, and Mobility Challenge. Nearly 300 TSMC employees took part enthusiastically, gaining first-hand experience of the difficulties and perspectives of individuals with disabilities.
Through these meaningful experiences, participants were encouraged to translate empathy into everyday action—working together to create a more inclusive, barrier-free workplace and to foster a corporate culture filled with care, understanding, and warmth.
