TFRD Wins the 8th Yu-Lin Award

The award ceremony for the 8th Y.L. Lin Taiwan Devotion Award took place on October 6 at the Hung Tai Commercial Complex. TFRD was honored with the Public Welfare Achievement Award, which comes with a monetary prize of NT$3 million, in recognition of its outstanding contributions to public welfare.

Accepting the honor, TFRD co-founder Professor Tseng Min-chieh highlighted TFRD's 25-year commitment to advancing rare disease care systems—an effort that has not only shaped Taiwan's legislative framework but also set a global benchmark. Thanks to breakthroughs in medical technology and an improved welfare system, many patients with previously untreatable conditions have gained new hope and a renewed sense of purpose in life.

With this award, TFRD will put the funds to good use through its "Rare Disease Outreach and Education Program" — an ongoing initiative central to TFRD's mission of raising public awareness, bridging societal gaps, and fostering an inclusive environment for rare disease communities. TFRD extends sincere gratitude to the Y.L. Lin Hung Tai Education Foundation and Y.L. Lin Hung Tai Charitable Trust for their steadfast supports. Their generosity empowers TFRD to amplify the voices of rare disease families and strengthen its vital services.
