2024 TFRD Creative Arts Exhibition

The "Encounter Your Inner Self - 2024 TFRD Creative Arts Exhibition" was held from October 5 to 29 in Hall TWO of Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, featuring the remarkable stories of children with rare diseases.

On the opening day, many long-term corporate supporters of the TFRD exhibitions were in attendance, with Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an even coming to see the children's infinite creativity and vitality through their artworks. The theme of the exhibition is "Encounter Your Inner Self", which emphasizes that everyone has a dream deep in their hearts, and that patients should not give up their wishes because of their illnesses.

The artworks on display were all created by the patients with the help of their art teachers, who brought them to travel through time and space by drawing and imagining what they would like to be like in the future. These children innocently drew what they wanted to do or where they wanted to go. A patient with Maple Syrup Urine Disease, who enjoys singing, depicted herself confidently singing on stage; Another, diagnosed with Congenital Muscular Dystrophy and known for her love of handicrafts, illustrated herself pumping the sewing machine treadle and focusing on her crafts.

TFRD extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who made this exhibition possible. Serena Wu, founder of TFRD, expressed her hopes for the event, stating, "We sincerely hope that through the creative process of art, patients will be able to share their stories with the world through their paintbrushes. We also hope the art classes provide families with a meaningful opportunity to connect with one another—and even find a moment of respite."
