Bathing Experience At RD Welfare Center

When the Rare Disease Welfare Center was initially conceived, two welfare centers were designed to offer bathing services catering to the special bathing needs of patients. Commencing this year, we have organized a two-day and one-night bathing experience activity specifically tailored for patients with limited mobility to partake in and enjoy personalized services.

On July 22 and 23, TFRD arranged for a video conference featuring Ms. Kuo from Our Lady of Charity Foundation, an expert in home bathing services. Ms. Kuo provided guidance on bathing techniques and highlighted important considerations. The session included professional instruction from a physical therapist covering transfer positions, explanations of assistive devices, and operational guidance. An experienced nurse also guided participants on conducting bathing assessments and measuring vital signs to ensure the suitability of the patient's physical condition for bathing. A patient with GNE Myopathy expressed, "The center offers an ideal environment and facilities to address the physical limitations of patients, enabling us to experience the same enjoyment as people without health challenges."

The Guansi local culture tour, Hakka cuisine, and gardening DIY on the next day made it possible for patients who could not easily go out to not only enjoy the pleasurable experience of bathing and soaking, but also to have a fulfilling two-day trip. The activity for bathing experience will continue to be held in the Welfare Center. We sincerely invite all patients who need it to come to Welfare Center and enjoy a relaxing bathing experience.
