On the eve of Doctors' Day on November 9, Taiwan Medical Association (TMA) held a celebrating meeting and award ceremony. President Tsai Ing-wen and Minister of Health and Welfare Chen Shih-chung were on hand to present the award. TFRD Managing Director Tsai Fuu-jen received the "Taiwan Medical Paragon Award," which is a great honor for medical treatment of rare diseases.

Dr. Tsai Fuu-jen is the Director of the Department of Medical Research and Genetic Medicine at the China Medical University Hospital in Taiwan. He is also an attending physician in the Department of Pediatric Genetics, as well as a distinguished professor and the Vice President of China Medical University in Taiwan. Dr. Tsai specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of genetic and metabolic diseases in pediatrics. He is a pioneer in screening for congenital metabolic disorders among newborns in Taiwan. It is quite remarkable that Dr. Tsai has devoted himself to the research and treatment of genetic diseases during his long career.

Dr. Chiu Tai-yuan, chairman of TMA, said the reason why Taiwan's medical care is highly recognized is that we have many outstanding doctors who pass down their expertise from generation to generation and devote themselves to our health. Dr. Tsai has been developing AI-assisted medical systems for many years. One of his goals is to preserve the doctor's valuable experience, and to provide services to remote areas in real time through cloud computing. Dr. Tsai excels not only in academic research and medical skills, but also in his benevolence and kindness to his patients.
