One in a Million - You Click to Watch, and I Donat

The 9th Annual i-Infinity Digital Charity Project - Microfilm Fundraiser by Taiwan Mobile Foundation (TMF) was officially launched. TFRD invites everyone to click on the microfilm One in a Million. For each click, TMF will donate $1 on behalf of the public, with a goal of $100,000.

Eating is an easy and common thing for most of us, but not for those with metabolic disorders. They must be cautious to strictly check their diet for a lifetime. Tasting various foods is an unattainable dream for them. They strive to eat healthy to survive because the wrong food may influence the development of the brain or even be fatal.

The microfilm One in a Million focuses on a group of patients with rare diseases who look like ordinary people, except for the fact that they suffer from congenital metabolic disorders. In Taiwan, there are 30 types of metabolic diseases with a population of more than 1,000 patients. Among them, 350 need to be confined within low-protein foods. The propionic acidemia mentioned in the film is one of them. For them, excess protein intake will form toxins in the body, which can cause coma in serious cases, so milk, eggs, beans, fish, and meat are all classified as rejected.

From now until June 18, 2021, TMF will donate $1 to TFRD for every complete click to view, with a goal of $100,000. We invite you to join us in caring for our patients and don't let rare diseases go unnoticed.
