Lions Clubs International Donates Cars and Medical Equipment

300E1 Lions Clubs International staged an event for blood donation at the 49th Far East and Southeast Asia Annual Conference on November 19. The donation ceremony was held on the same day. The district director of the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) and 300E1 Taiwan Lions Club, Chen Jixing, along with all the Lions, donated a service car, three cough assist machines, and six wheelchairs to the TFRD. Both 300E1 director Chen Jixing and the former chairperson Chen Jisheng, the parent of a thalassemia patient of the TFRD, throw their full and long-term support behind the patients with a rare disease and help them get better services. The TFRD is very appreciative of their contribution.

The service car will be used to help patients in southern Taiwan. The service includes going to a doctor, delivering medical equipment or supplies to families with rare disease patients, making irregular home visits, and assisting patients in participating in activities such as singing in the chorus. The three cough assist machines will be provided for the patients in urgent need for free, and the six wheelchairs will be used to increase patients' mobility and enhance their social interaction. People who turn love into action by donating the items mentioned above not only satisfy the medical needs of patients but also allow them to get the service in time, which raises the quality of life for patients with a rare disease in the meantime.
