Taipei 101 Invites Children to Perform
Taipei 101 held a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, “Light up for Love”, on the evening of December 8, 2016 in order to create Christmas atmosphere. This year, Taipei 101 specially invited The Heavenly Melody Choir of the Taiwan Foundation for Rare Disease to participate and light the environmentally friendly LED Christmas tree of 13 meters tall.
This was the first time that Taipei 101 invited rare disease children to perform, and everyone was looking forward to it. They not only discussed energetically after choir practice, but also practiced earnestly, hoping they could bring the best performance. On that day, as soon as the children entered Taipei 101, they all said, “I enter Taipei 101 for the first time... It is so huge and high.” Another one said, “The elevator went so fast here. It reached the 36th floors very soon. However, Christmas tree in Taipei 101 that attracted many children was very different from the Christmas trees in other places. The “digital” Christmas tree in Taipei 101 was composed of low-heat LED lights, amazing everybody by its brilliant lights.
The Heavenly Melody Choir of TFRD performed a series of Christmas songs, and after singing, everyone engaged in lighting ceremony together. The founder, Ms. Serena Wu, thanked Taipei 101 for inviting TFRD and for creating a Christmas atmosphere for everyone. Meanwhile, it made more people see the vitality of rare disease patients.
