Thousands of People Jog for Rare Diseases

Start for Love, Let It Shine Thousands of People Jog for Rare Diseases

What does it feel like when one thousand and five hundred people jog together at riverside side park? Especially those people are jogging there for family with rare diseases. The scene that day was impressing and touching. Dolphin Group Company first cooperated with Taiwan Foundation of Rare Disorders (TFRD) by holding Start for Love, Let It Shine, a jogging evet for public interests. This event was joined by the employees and their family of ten different companies all around Taiwan, crowding Taipei Water Park.

The event started by everyone painting their faces with colorful crayon. Children with rare diseases also drew their favorite images on their faces. “Start for Love. Let It Shine. Gogogo!” was yelled by everyone. All the people started walking along the river happily. Their hearts were filled with love and joy. Some volunteered to push the wheelchair of the patients who were disabled.

After walking for long period of time, some patients brought astonishing show. Mr. Liu, who has Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia(HSP), for example, brought national standard dancing of pair wheelchairs. Yiqun Wei, a patient of McCune-Albright Syndrome, sang some popular songs. The relatives of rare disease patients also had amagic performance. At the end, employees of Dolphin Group Company had a Solitaire of Love. They hope to deliver the spirit of permanent love. Every person hugged their friends and families, saying “Thank you for your hardworks.” “Just like the delivery of stuffs, I believe that love is alsoflowing,” said Mr. Wang, President of Dolphin Group Company.

This activity was not only a milestone of the first jogging of thousands of people after TFRD was established for almost twenty years. It was also an achievement that reflected the hard work of public advocacy that the Foundation has been working on for years. We appreciated that Dolphin Group Company donated 4.255 million dollars to our foundation, and we would put all the money into medical care for rare diseases families.
