TFRD Kaohsiung Branch Holds Music Therapy Workshop
Following the success of its “Singing Bowl Sound Therapy Workshop” earlier this year, the Kaohsiung branch of TFRD held a second event, the “Music Therapy Workshop,” on November 9. The session, led by certified music therapist Cheng, invited nine patients and their families to explore the therapeutic benefits of music, continuing to use sound as a medium for emotional healing and connection.
At the beginning of the activity, the teacher encouraged the participants to play different musical instruments, such as tambourine, triangle, clapper board, etc., and guided the participants to feel the atmosphere of the current environment and their own internal emotional flow, which helps the participants to open up the senses of hearing and touching, to express the pressure in their lives, to ease the thoughts in their minds, and to relax their bodies and minds by listening attentively to the rhythms of the musical instruments.
TFRD appreciates Teacher Cheng's guidance in allowing the participants to interact with different types of music. Apart from expressing our emotions, the participants also learned about the healing effects and different levels of relaxation brought about by different types of music. It is hoped that when the participants return to their own lives, they will find their own way of music therapy to heal their minds, bodies and souls.
