Visit to the Rare Disease Home

On December 27, over 200 students from the Affiliated Senior High School of National Chengchi University visited the Rare Disease Home for a journey to broaden their horizons.

The purpose of this visit was to enhance the correct understanding of rare diseases among teachers and students, using an interactive approach to lead students to understand rare diseases from the genetic point of view. Next, students visited the patients’ living experience area and multimedia area, firsthand experiencing the challenges that patients face in their daily lives. Additionally, rare disease staffs led activities where students could make their own succulent plant and ID card holders.

We are grateful to the Affiliated Senior High School of National Chengchi University for their visit and hope this experience can leave a lasting impression on the students. The Rare Disease Home and the Genetics Education Center are now officially open to the public, and we welcome organizations and schools to apply for visits to witness a different life experience.
