Rare Disease Day Party Packed With Enthusiasm
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of TFRD and the Rare Disease Day, observed annually on 28 February (or 29 in leap years), we held a Rare Disease Day Party at Rare Disease Welfare Center on March 9. We extended invitations to 120 families affected by rare diseases, encompassing over 30 different types of conditions. This gathering brought together nearly 450 family members and volunteers to collectively recognize the significance of Rare Disease Day. Additionally, it stands as the largest outdoor event held at the Rare Disease Center since its inception.
A must for the party was the exciting group games, in which children, parents and volunteers enthusiastically engaged and warmed up the ambiance in no time at all. It was very touching to see all the sponsors' dedication. At noon, the winners of the Karaoke Contest entertained the audience and received resounding applause. Of course, must-have food such as grilled sausages, Hsinchu Hakka dumplings, vegetable buns and meat dumplings, as well as 300 lunchboxes prepared by Hotel Royal Hsinchu and beverages provided by the COMEBUY van were also on offer.
In the afternoon, we were impressed by the game of "Race to the Top", where everyone cooperated and actively completed each level in order to win the final victory. Last but not least, we would like to express our special thanks to 40+ volunteers from Sanofi and AZ Pharmaceuticals for their long term cooperation, which made the whole event more enjoyable.
