Art Exhibition at CMUH

TFRD and China Medical University Hospital (CMUH) jointly launched the art exhibition "Love is not rare / Light of Firelight illuminating vitality" for two weeks (Feb. 22 - Mar. 8) in the lobby of the Emergency Medicine Building. The purpose of this art exhibition is to raise public awareness about rare diseases and highlight the remarkable achievements of patients who have overcome physical limitations to create these artworks, showcasing the value of life.

At the press conference on Feb. 22, TFRD Heavenly Melody Choir of Rare Central Branch performed at the opening ceremony. In addition, Jia-Mei (a patient with Thalassemia Major) and Momo (a patient with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome) presented their paintings to CMUH and Lin Tzeng Lien Welfare and Charity Foundation for their generous donation of NT$200,000 to support TFRD.

A total of 33 paintings by 23 patients in 19 kinds of diseases were displayed in four areas: (1) Artists' Special Exhibition Area; (2) Rare Disease Home Life Area; (3) Vitality of Paintings Area; and (4) Artwork Extension Area: such as masks, poker cards, and drawing books, etc., to facilitate the public to understand and accept rare diseases in a fun and relaxing manner.

TFRD has been encouraging patients to pursue their interests and to enhance their self-confidence through the presentation of the art exhibition. We appreciate CMUH for providing the venue for the exhibition, which attracted a lot of visitors during the exhibition period. TFRD also hereby received NT$56,978 in donations for this event. We thank everyone again for your support.
