Go Play with Lin&Yang on Rare Disease Day
Coinciding with Rare Disease Day at the end of February, Taiwan Land Bank cooperated with TFRD for the first time to co-organize a badminton camp on February 19. On that day, we invited the gold medal badminton players "Lin&Yang partnership" (Wang Chi-Lin and Lee Yang) to have fun with us. Thirty families with 18 types of diseases participated in the camp. Among them, patients suffering from Achondroplasia would experience restricted bone growth as a result of the disease. However, they refused to back down and performed wonderfully in the same competition with Lee Yang and Wang Chi-Lin. This event also served as an opportunity for the athletes to be engaged in charity work. We hope that their kindness will set an example for the public to follow and drum up their support for rare diseases.
TFRD has been holding different types of sports camps every year, including basketball, baseball, soccer, and bowling. Through the fun and competitive games, the RD patients challenged themselves by streaming sweat to their heart's content.
