Beam Raising Ceremony - Rare Welfare Center Comple
After years of efforts, the Rare Welfare Center finally obtained the construction permit in early 2020 and officially broke ground in May. At the moment when large heavy machinery moved into the construction site and started digging, it turned a new page for Taiwan's rare disease service.
The whole center is built by Green Field International together with Xu Yuan Construction, two of the top companies in Taiwan. Sinyan Engineering Consultants takes charge of the soil and water conservation supervision. With the supports of Hsinchu County Mayor Yang Wen-ke and Guanxi Township Mayor Liu De-liang, it is expected that Guanxi will become a new highlight in Taiwan regarding the humanitarian concern and environmental protection. In addition, TFRD appreciates the generous financial support of numerous other partners. TFRD Director Dr. Chen Yuan-Tsong took the lead, donating NT$10 million. Prominent enterprises, including Ru Shi Charitable Trust (Fubon Financial), Chen-Yung Foundation, Chenco Holdings, Nu Skin Enterprises, Everlight Cultural Foundation, and Daikin Industries, also provided substantial support.
The beam raising ceremony was held on April 9, 2021, attended by Hsinchu County Vice Mayor Chen Jian-xian, Director of Social Affairs Li Guo-lu, County Councilors Luo Shi-qi and Xu Yu-xin. The Mayor of Guanxi Township, Mr. Liu De-liang, and the Acting Chairman of the Township, Ms. Zhan Yu-ju, were also present to witness this historic moment. "Hsinchu County has always paid great attention to the welfare of the disables and the elderly. I am glad to see that the Rare Welfare Center will be completed soon. We hope that it will serve as an important cradle for disability services in Hsinchu as well as a model center for rare disease services nationwide,"said Vice Mayor Chen Jian-xian.
"With the assistance of professionals and organizations from various sectors along with TFRD's years of experience in interacting with patients and providing services, TFRD could successfully carry out a project that takes into account both software and hardware facilities to realize the vision of creating Rare Welfare Center,” added TFRD's Chairman, Dr. Lin Shuan-pei.
The Rare Welfare Center is expected to operate in April 2022 after its registration approval. TFRD hopes that all of our long-time supporters will come together to offer more encouragement to the Rare Welfare Center.
