Spotlight Gallery’s Art Creation Can Help
Spotlight Online Gallery was established by rare disease patient Jia-Mei, Li in 2017. Paintings created by people with disabilities were displayed and sold by the gallery. For each purchase, 10 percent of the total price will donate to TFRD
Rare disease patients live with their diseases for the entire life. They draw to pursuit peace of mind and ease mental stress through different ways, drawing is one of methods. Everyone is equal in the world of art. People build their sense of achievement and belonging, and also get spiritual comfort for their mind.
Jia-Mei, Li, Spotlight Gallery promoter, is a patient of Thalassemia. To maintain her life, she needs to rely on blood transfusion for lifetime, which makes her understand the precious of life more than others. She loved painting since she was a child. Li realizes that drawing can make people forget their physical pain, thus, she has devoted herself to charity services through paintings.
Li always hopes that people with disabilities can rely on themselves and no longer labeled as “requires help.” Therefore, she came up with the idea to organize an artistic platform for the disabled. Li invited artists with disabilities to join the gallery and held many joint exhibitions, hoping more people can see the talents of people with disabilities.
Spotlight Gallery promote and sale art works draw by people with disabilities, which they live on the earned money. Li was also inspired by the hardworking of rare disease patients who live their life with professions and talents, therefore initiate an activity: “Spotlight’s art creations light up the world:” for them. Since 2017, as the paintings are sold, 10% of the total purchase price will donate to TFRD. Over the past few years, it has donated NT 71790 dollars through this event.
Thanks to the hardworking of rare disease patients. The paintings created by Marfan syndrome Jian-Feng, Xie and Williams Syndrome Guan-He, Lin are display on Spotlight Online Gallery. The public are welcome to appreciate these elaborate works and support arts for the disabled.
