Nestlé Taiwan’s Nutritional Support
Nearly half of all rare disorder patients who rely on enteral nutrition do so because of conditions that affect brain development or neurological function. Others—including those with severe heart and lung issues that cause extreme weight loss, or genetic conditions like epidermolysis bullosa—depend on high-calorie, high-protein supplements to maintain basic health.
To ease this burden, the Foundation launched its Enteral Nutrition Subsidy for Rare Disease Patients program in 2011. Since then, over 2,000 patients have received support through in-kind subsidies, direct product purchases, and generous public donations—ensuring essential nutrition reaches those who need it most.
On May 22, Nestlé Taiwan made a meaningful contribution to this effort. Chairman Lo Tai-Ching and Director Lee Ching-Ming visited the Foundation to donate both adult and pediatric nutritional products and to raise awareness about the critical needs of Taiwan’s rare disease community.
“We care deeply about the nutritional needs of all, especially families impacted by rare diseases,” Chairman Lo said. “Through the power of food, Nestlé offers targeted support to help improve lives and deliver real, compassionate action.”
Foundation founder Chen Li-Yin expressed heartfelt thanks:
“We’re truly moved to see companies like Nestlé stepping up to help. Their kindness shines a light on the rare disease community, and we hope more will be inspired to listen, care, and take action.”
Thanks to support like this, families facing incredible challenges receive not only nutrition but also hope and encouragement for the road ahead.
