Rare Talent Classes are on the Road !

The first session of the Rare Disease Welfare Center's talent classes has started since March 2023, with a total of eight classes. This is also the first regular program at Center, which allows patients in Taoyuan, Hsinchu and Miaoli to attend classes without having to travel to Taipei or Taichung.

The first session of the talent class was led by Art Therapist Ms. Yau, who opened the long closed window of art for each participant. The best time for the children to have fun is during breaks between classes. The outdoor grass sliding slopes, the large-scale inclusive play equipment, and the slides and swings all make for a memorable experience for the children, contributing to the features of the talent classes. At the end of the class, Rare Craftsmen Mr. Zheng was invited to teach the traditional technique of Nie Mian Ren (the art of making dough figures), in which the craftsmanship of detailed kneading and sculpting is used to bring the figurines to life.In this session, 30 patients and their siblings participated, ranging from the youngest 3 years old to the oldest 61 years old. For the second session, we will invite Ruo-Jun, who is also a patient with hereditary epidermolysis bullosa, to continue the program. We look forward to seeing more people join us.
