Rotary Club Donated Medical Devices
The Rotary Club of Taichung North-West has long been committed to caring for families with rare diseases. For the sixth year in a row, they have donated 26 items of medical equipment and adaptive devices to benefit 30 patients. This year, they donated a total of NT$609,100 in medical supplies and assistive devices, including oxygen concentrators, electric phlegm suction devices, desktop oximeters, and fingertip oximeters. Each piece of equipment is a life-saving device for patients and must be approved by a doctor before use.
This time, they targeted at the frail or young patients by providing light-weight phlegm suction devices to help them cough up the phlegm easily and reduce infection despite being bedridden for a long time. As for oxygen concentrators, they have been borrowed out 60 times in the past few years and 175 consultations and repairs have been made, which are the most frequent demands for medical device services at TFRD. We are grateful to Rotary Club of Taichung North-West for their donation to alleviate the financial burden of families with rare diseases and to help patients with different needs for medical devices.
