The Presentation Concerts of Tian-Lai Choir in Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung

On September 16th, September 23rd, and October 22nd, the choir made up of rare disorders patients held presentation concerts in Taipei, Kaohsiung and Taichung respectively. On the day of the concert in Taipei, tens of wheelchairs slowly got on stage , which immediately caught the eyes of the audience. They brought the audience several touching songs they had been hard working on. Also, The Vox Nativa Children's Choir was invited to perform in the languages of Bunun, English and Latin. They also sang the “kipahpah ima song” with the rare disease children on stage. The friendship between indigenous children and rare disease children was built up through the vivid and brisk melody of songs.

The performance in Taichung conveyed the message of respect and acceptance for rare disorders by fairy tale dramas. The members of the choir brought the songs madeon their own. One of these songs was named “Love You Every Single Day”,which was worded by the patients of Tuberous Sclerosis and composed by Marfan syndrome patients. In order to make the show more brilliant, the famous Open Theater Group was especially invited to take part in the scriptwriting. An outstanding musical was presented on stage in the form of fairy tale accompanied by the paintings of patients in central Taiwan.

As for the concert in Kaohsiung, Director as well as Scriptwriter Chang from Action Corporation Theatre connected everyone’s life story and wrote a musical with love, growth and change. Chang said with a smile, “What I have been expecting most in a year is to perform with them. Listening to the songs they wrote, we can discover the plentiful energy and potential full of love, courage and hope instead of negativity and suffering.” The patients composed the songs based on their life story, such as “Painting Papers” composed by Yi-Ying with Apert Syndrome, “Forget My Disability” composed by Li-Su with Spinal Muscular Atrophy and so on. In the end, the choir sang the song “If Tomorrow is Your Afterlife” with Da-Ai Rotary Club. They hoped everyone can think about a question: if tomorrow is your last day in life, how will you live your life today? The marvelous performance deeply caused a great sensation and received endless applause from the audience.
