Meeting the Self Within ~ 2024 Art Book by RD Patients
Who am I? This is a question many people often ask themselves in moments of self-reflection. For patients with rare diseases, this question takes on even greater significance, as they frequently need to explain their circumstances and behaviors to others. Misunderstandings can leave them feeling isolated or even questioning their own identity. Over the years, TFRD has organized various courses and activities aimed at empowering patients by enhancing their skills and building their confidence. Through these efforts, we hope they will rediscover their dreams and dare to pursue what once seemed impossible.
The theme of this exhibit is “Meeting the Self Within.” Deep within every heart lies a dream. Through their artwork, the patients journeyed across time and space, envisioning and portraying their future selves. Meanwhile, the children, with their innocent brushstrokes, illustrated the careers they aspire to pursue or the places they dream of visiting in the future.
This year's art album showcases over 100 stunning 2D and 3D works. It highlights creations from painting classes across the Northern, Hsinchu, Central, and Southern districts, as well as selected pieces from multi-arts and parent-child picture book classes. Through these works, we aim to inspire the public to appreciate the boundless creativity and potential within the rare disease community.
